Foreign Languages

In the Middle School, emphasis is on the spoken word, and the course language is the basis for all communication in the classroom. We create a comfortable learning environment in which students develop their listening and speaking abilities while enriching their knowledge of their own language.

Upper School courses strengthen conversational skills and begin to deal with literature in the formal sense. Since the formal study of languages typically begins in seventh grade, students have the opportunity to graduate from University Prep with five years of study.
